Between November 2024 and February 2025 BuryILD intend to consult with members, supported people, families, friends, professionals, volunteers, staff, and any other related parties as to the continued function and direction for Contact Leisure.

BuryILD welcomed into the Charity Contact Leisure in 2014 and until Covid in 2020 there we approximately 88 members within the groups and extended active projects.

Today in late October there are 14 active members. This is a deterioration of 74 in four years.

The annual cost to the Charity is over £15,000.00 pa to manage contact alone with no accounting for management time. If these costs we assigned the overall cost to the Charity would be more than £25,000.00. The income from Contact Leisure is under £2,500.00 pa.

The wellbeing value of Contact Leisure to our supported people is immeasurable, and for that reason we apply for local grants and funds. We have been minimally successful and in the last four years this has amounted to less than £500.

The future of Contact Leisure is at risk, and for us to determine if we can make changes to deter its closure, we invite you to share your thoughts, considerations, and ideas.
